MARDO’s Nutrition Goal : To reduce malnutrition-related illness and mortality by expanding access to timely, quality, and community-based nutrition services for those most at risk.emergencies.
Malnutrition remains a critical public health challenge in Somalia, particularly among children under five and women, and is exacerbated by conflict, climate shocks, and limited access to basic services.
About Our Nutrition Work
MARDO’s Nutrition Program addresses acute and chronic malnutrition through community-based and facility-level interventions. We work closely with communities and local systems to deliver life-saving nutrition services, promote optimal feeding practices, and strengthen resilience against recurrent shocks such as drought, displacement, and food insecurity.
MARDO delivers nutrition interventions through locally led, community-based approaches that prioritize early detection, timely treatment, and prevention of malnutrition. Our work strengthens community outreach systems and supports families to adopt sustainable nutrition and caregiving practices, particularly in humanitarian and emergency contexts.
