Health

MARDO’s Health Goal : To expand access to quality, inclusive, and life-saving health services for vulnerable communities, with a strong focus on women, children, and populations affected by emergencies.

Half of Somalia’s population continues to face barriers to accessing essential, quality healthcare—particularly in crisis-affected and underserved areas.

About Our Health Work

The program aims to provide preventive and curative nutrition services to children and women in Hudur, Bardale, and Dinsoor of Bakool and Bay Region in South West State. It identifies and treats children with moderate acute malnutrition, provides life-saving treatment to those with severe acute malnutrition, promotes optimal maternal nutrition and care, and manages acute malnutrition through regular monitoring, nutritional counseling, and medical interventions. The program integrates with other sectors such as health, water, sanitation, food security, and protection to maximize impact and improve overall child well-being
MARDO strengthens community and primary healthcare systems to deliver essential services and respond effectively to health emergencies. Our health interventions are locally led, rights-based, and designed to improve access, quality, and continuity of care in fragile and humanitarian settings across Somalia.
